Toolpath workspace

The G-code generator uses a shallow, depth-capped hybrid rather than unrestricted sign-style V-carving.

Algorithm used
Raster image: alpha-over-white luminance → Otsu or manual threshold → binary opening/closing → connected-component filtering → optional crop.
Broad engraved regions: chamfer distance transform → tool-center mask eroded by the V-bit surface radius at the capped depth → serpentine scanline pocketing → simplified boundary finish paths.
Narrow details: subtract estimated broad-pass coverage → Zhang–Suen thinning → graph tracing → Ramer–Douglas–Peucker simplification → variable Z computed from local half-width and capped at the material depth limit.
V-bit geometry: surface width = 2 × depth × tan(angle ÷ 2) and depth = half-width ÷ tan(angle ÷ 2).
